Forest School in Cluj-Napoca

Outdoor education for confident, resilient, nature-connected children.

Forest School helps children learn through real outdoor practice: observing nature, understanding what they see, trying useful skills, and reflecting on what worked.

The approach

Safety, skill, confidence, and wonder.

Each session is calm, practical, and hands-on. Children build outdoor competence while learning responsibility, teamwork, patience, and respect for the natural world.

Learner-centered growth

Children explore, ask questions, test ideas, and develop at their own pace while receiving clear guidance and encouragement.

Experiential learning

Sessions follow a simple rhythm: observe, understand, practice, and reflect so children learn through doing.

Managed risk

Children learn how to use tools, move through terrain, handle weather, and respect fire or sharp objects with safety-first awareness.

Well-being outdoors

Outdoor skills become a path to presence, resilience, adaptability, confidence, and connection to self, others, and the environment.

What children learn

Practical outdoor skills with real-life character growth.

Forest School builds confidence through age-appropriate lessons in survival basics, bushcraft, navigation, hiking, archery, nature awareness, and outdoor safety.

Outdoor living

Shelters, campcraft, knots, natural materials, tool safety, fire management, and simple outdoor cooking foundations.

Trail and nature awareness

Maps, compass basics, natural navigation, route planning, terrain awareness, flora, fauna, seasons, and ecosystems.

Teamwork and reflection

Children work individually and in teams, then reflect on what they noticed, what worked, and what they would do differently next time.

Badge pathway

A simple progression children can feel proud of.

The program uses a ten-badge progression to help children see their growth across safety, outdoor skills, nature connection, and teamwork. Each badge gives children a clear skill domain to practice, from fire safety and shelter building to navigation, nature observation, knots, bushcraft, outdoor cooking, and group responsibility. The goal is not just to collect badges, but to help each child observe, understand, practice, and reflect until confidence becomes embodied.

Safety is non-negotiable

Every class prioritizes human safety over skill demonstration. Children learn clear safety rules for knives and sharp tools, fire use, wild food awareness, weather exposure, terrain, and group responsibility.
